Frequently Asked Questions

General

1. Which publishers do you deal with ?

All major publishers throughout the world including Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Macmillan, Pearson, Harcourt, Bertrams, Jolly Phonics etc. We can order any publication from any publisher as long as it is still in print.

2. What library services you offer ?

Schools that place an order with the Centre can enjoy free consultation, a suggested list of books, quotation, ordering, cataloguing, coding, spine labeling and plastic covering, all at competitive rates.

3. Do you have publications available for immediate purchase in the Resource Centre ?

No. The publications on display in the resource centre are sample copies for our customers to browse.

4. Do you have inspection copies or catalogues ?

Yes. We can order inspection copies from the publishers prior to placing an order. We also have catalogues for all of the major publishers.

5. What curricula/grades/subjects do you cater for ?

We cater for British, American, Australian and International Baccalaureate Curricula, at all grade levels and subjects.

Orders

6. Can anyone order books from ERC ?

Yes. Schools, educational institutions, business entities, and any recognised private and public organisations can order from the centre. Individual orders will be noted and forwarded to Magrudy’s bookshops.

7. How long does do you take to respond to enquiries/requests for quotations ?

We aim to respond to all queries within 2 working days. Responses to complex queries may take longer but we aim to update customers at least within one working day.

8. Do you have an online ordering/order checking facility ?

Currently this facility is under development, we are building this capability into the site for our customers benefit and will notify everyone when it is launched.

9. Which furniture/equipment suppliers do you deal with ?

Currently we partner with Findel Education and School Specialty.

10. Can you supply university/college textbooks ?

Yes. We can supply all publications to meet university and college requirements.

Deliveries

11. How long does it take to deliver ?

3-4 weeks for a standard order. Expedite delivery time is 7 days but there are additional courier charges for this.

12. How do you transport the books ?

The books are sent via land, sea or air freight. We can provide you with a choice of shipping options, with insurance and tracking services.

13. Can you deliver orders outside of the GCC region ?

Yes. We do deliver outside the GCC region at competitive rates. Follow this link for shipping/freighting rates.

Payments

14. What credit terms are available for new customers ?

Upon completion of a credit application, our finance department will notify you about payment terms.

15. Can I cancel my order and get a refund ?

You can cancel within two working days after placing your order. A credit note will be issued against any payment, but we do not refund cash.

16. What is your returns policy ?

We value your satisfaction, if your book(s) arrive in poor condition, please contact us within 2 days and we will arrange for a replacement book, otherwise there is no returns policy.

18. How much does it cost to attend these sessions ?

We try to keep our prices to a minimum so that everyone has the opportunity to attend. Each course is priced separately and you can find these prices in the course list here.
